Heiwa Park is a public park is located in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya in central Japan.
A spacious park covering almost 400 acres / 150 hectares, Heiwa Park has something for everyone. Regularly frequented by locals and tourists alike, many visitors come here each day to enjoy an impromptu picnic, or simply a stroll along the pathways. Other highlights include a dramatic statue of the famous Japanese Goddess of Mercy (Kannon), woodland trails, a series of ponds and endless seasonal interest, including cherry blossoms in the spring and dramatic fall colours each autum. It is dedicated to peace.
The park is popular amongst visitors especially during the Hanami season in spring. The park features a statue of Kannon, the boddhisatva of mercy, trails through the woodlands, ponds and a large cemetery.
Access by public transport is by Jiyūgaoka Station with Meijō Line or Higashiyama Koen Station on the Higashiyama Line.
